| Chemical Peels Chemical Peels have been used for many decades to revitalize and rejuvenate the skin. A chemical peel is a controlled exfoliation of the skin caused by the application of a chemical solution that sloughs off the dead cells from the skin’s surface, exposing more radiant, unblemished and younger looking skin. This procedure is most commonly performed on the face, hands and chest. Superficial peels enhance skin texture and the deeper variety effect major changes in wrinkling, scarring, and pigmentation. The deeper the peel penetrates, the more dramatic the results. Light Chemical Peels Improve:
The best results and improvement in the skin is obtained with multiple peels performed a few weeks apart. However, a single peel will give visible results with a healthy, radiant glow. How it works: Light peels take from 30 – 45 minutes and can be performed safely on practically all skin types. The aesthetician swabs on a solution that removes the dead cells from the skin's surface or may pobe deeper into the living layers of skin. Some clients may seem a little pink following the treatment but there is no downtime and makeup can be applied after treatment. There are some more aggressive peels for more damaged skin that may result in more downtime and burning. Your skin care professional can discuss these with you.
